Orbit in Mars

I pretty much love everything about String Theory Colorworks’ Orbit base. I’ve sung its praises many times in the past, but there is just something about it that keeps me coming back. It doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles, but this 80/20 merino/nylon 3ply sport weight base is one of my top 5 favorite sock yarns just because it is fun to knit. Between the self-striping and the sport weight, Orbit just always flies off my needles. The only problem with it is that I knit myself out of it almost as soon as I get it.

Somehow I managed to keep one skein from my last order. I bought it with my son in mind, but wasn’t sure he wanted another handknit pair of socks. This probably sounds ridiculous, but I try really hard to not foist handknits onto my family. If asked, I will make…
